Rear tire width max for 67 Barracuda

I am running BFG 245/60/14's in the rear, BFG 235/60/14's in front! Only issue was a little rubbing on the rear lip when I hit a bump in the road, my leaf springs are sagging, so installed air shocks to raise it 1 inch, until I replace the leafs!!

    Tire conundrum

Thanks for the suggestions so far! It is not a daily driver and I only put about a 1000 miles on it a year, mostly club cruises and weekend cruises in general. It's not tagged by the state for more that 1200 miles a year, Antique plates etc. I live in Texas! So that being said I think new...

    Tire conundrum

Howdy folks, I am sure this has been discussed before. I just bought new tires for my stock 67 Barracuda Fastback. The rears are BF Goodrich 245/60R/14's mounted on old school Cragers. Went from 225/60/R14's. They rub when I hit a good bump or dip in the road and I have a couple of options as...

    Is Your Wife Supportive?

Support, that's a twin edge sword right! So yes she supports it, she is the reason I got into this at all really. But on the other hand, I know she would prefer that I get all the "honey do's" done that need attention first, I think we all make that mistake. But overall, she supports the...

    any less of a barracuda

No less a Barracuda, In fact that year range, 64-66 can be what started it all, as far as High horse power mid-sized cars go. Remember in 1964 the Valient Barracuda beat the Ford Mustange to market, and 64-66 had the largest single piece of glass ever installed into a production car! Still...

    Dumb Comments

Ok true story! When I was getting Wanda on the road I had to find the front rubber brake lines right! So I go to autozone and they have one of two I need, but the other store (a few miles away) has the other one. Cool right? So off I go, and I walk into the store and ask the twenty year old...

Rear Tires Suddenly Lock Up Going 65

I only mention the brake deal because it happened to me personally! So the deal is with the brake adjusters, after a while the shoes go all the way out and are so tight that they will lock the wheels. After seeing the last post and a tragic story with the Demon. If I were you I would tow it to...

Rear Tires Suddenly Lock Up Going 65

Forgot to mention, the primary brake shoe (smaller one) goes in facing the front of the car. So having the secondary shoe on facing front on both wheels would cause that problem. Maybe even on one wheel since you have a suregrip!

Rear Tires Suddenly Lock Up Going 65

For what it's worth my mistake in putting the shoes on wrong took over a year to reveal itself. Drove great over 800 miles, untill one day! Bam right front wheel locked. So I am just saying that if the shoes are installed incorrectly you may not notice by a mere quick look at them. The last...

    A-904 History Please

Hey folks I spent this last Saturday cleaning up a 904 tranny and was wondering what the difference was between the years? Mainly my 1967 and up. The 904 I cleaned up (72 Duster) looks a little different than the one in my car, is it just the casting or something else. Anyone know of a good...

    Accel ignition question!

We did exactly that, left everything on the coil where it was and added the "new" wires from the accel points eliminator. The only wire we did not reuse was from the original points configuration, which you replace when you install the "new" trigger! And we get no spark, so what I am hearing...

    Accel ignition question!

We connected Red to positive, Green to negatve on the coil and brown to ground! We left the blue from wiring harness connected to positive, and from what I can tell it's in series with the ballast resistor so still no sparky! Do I need to run another wire from positive to the run posistion...

    Finished and here it is!

Thanks Night Moves! I could just write a check and be done with it, but what's the fun in that right! Besides it's way more fun and rewarding to tackle a problem and design and build something to correct that problem. They do it at NASA all the time! So part of the reward for doing so is the...
