    Removing oil pan

Wow, that is totally ******* unreal. Almost like this motor wasn't meant to be in this car. Thanks for all the advice, I really thought I was the problem here.

    Removing oil pan

I'm sure someone here has changed an oil pan gasket on a 72 swinger. I took the drag link, starter and transmission dust plate off but the ******* oil pan just doesn't want to come out. At this point in my project I'm ready to sell this thing as-is and buy an Iroc. LOL. :angry5:

    Andrew Jackson had it right.

Creepy accurate! Hit the nail on the head even way back then :read2:

    Trans rebuild?

A piece of unistrut and some threaded rod is the nuts for pulling the pump... the slide hammer seemed a bit too harsh for me.

busted my eye....why you should always wear eye protection

Wire wheels are afwul! Always wear glasses when using a wire wheel. Should always wear them when grinding as well but I'll try not to be a hypocrite here :p The WORST is definitely those carbide end grinders... they throw sharp metal shards eeeeeverywhere. I won't even touch one without a face...

Complete rebuild on a 440, I need suggestions

OK so a few years ago the old man brought home an old dodge van with a 440 smogger with the plans of building it up and putting it in a 70's mopar. Last week he finally got around to getting a hold of a 74 charger with a 318. NOW, I want to be able to take care of the lower end for him and...

Sept. 27th Mopars @ Lebanon Valley strip, show and swap meet

The vintage car show is postponed to next saturday I believe. My old man had to work this weekend so he took the day off as well, which his place of employment is NOT very keen on. Now he won't even be able to make it on the 25th since he is scheduled to work every-other weekend. Unbelievable...

Some weird vibrating that needs to be fixed!

I did this and it still vibrated! So this left my problem to the driveshaft or rearend. Good suggestion :thumblef: OK! I parked the car in neutral and took a look at the drive shaft. Lo and behold the damn yoke was loose in the extension housing. Not to mention the fact that 2/3 of the yoke...

    Got my new intake

Let's hope it seals real nice! EVERY weld pass made distorts the parent metal, no matter what it is. Weld distortion is a very powerful force.

Some weird vibrating that needs to be fixed!

OK.... I thought the vibrating could have been a wheel bearing in the front. The bearings and seals looked good. Took em both off, cleaned em with solvent and packed them. No change. However while going down the road (somehow) I did realize that the vibration ONLY happens in 3rd gear. I can...

    9/11 Remembrance...NEVER Forget

I've pondered this question as well... I don't think 9/11/2001 will be covered in high school history class. RIP to all the poor innocent people that were killed during this horrendous act :bs:

Some weird vibrating that needs to be fixed!

I actually had a bent rim in the back which I replaced, but it didn't make a difference. The u-joint is brand-new as well. The damn rear end was laying around in the garage for years and was the only thing I didn't rebuild :tard: I just swapped the whole drum assembly from the old rear since it...

    Help!!! Please!!!

Interesting rumblefish! Did you do that solely to avoid heat from the hoses?

Some weird vibrating that needs to be fixed!

Just took the car around the block for the first time all summer... I noticed a vibrating above 35 mph that may or may not be the driveshaft (this is my first guess) My question is, are driveshafts weighted for particular cars? I noticed a block that look like a weight near the universal. Just...

    New Metallica !

Sorry but in my opinion metallica went downhill after they ran out of all dave mustaine's ideas :blackeye: And I'm sorry but the guitar "solo" and the drum beats toward the end there really make me cringe. Just my opinion though.

    exhaust leaks

The nicest fix would be to tap the hole and put a bolt in it. The easiest thing to do would be to weld it closed, ideally with a tig machine or a poorboy.
