I have a 71 Demon all steel, 6 point cage, frame tied, rear ladder bars, 14.32 rear tire, stock suspension in the front, engine is a small stroked 4 inch 125 bore, 4 inch stroke, 13.6 compression, solid lifter cam, 6.25 lift, indy heads, rectangle port, heads are ported, 1000 cfm carb. Engine made 640 horse on the dyno, 565 ft lbs of torque. I use a 904 trans, 245 first gear, 456 gears, dana 60 rear end. Best time 10.25 @ 130mph that is with a big wheel stand. If I get it tamed down it should run a little faster. 60 ft is around 135-136. I hope this helps.

74 Duster, 440W/stock crank and rods, Ross Pistons. Heavily ported 906's flowing 290 cfm.2 inch headers, Indy intake, Holley 950. MSD ignition. Turbo Action 8 inch converter, Dana 60 w/ 4.88's and a ladder bar/ leaf spring rear suspension. Car with driver weigh 3450 lbs. best 1/4 10.32 @ 129. best 1/8 6.52@ 105.

10.54 @ 130 (100 degrees/2940 DA
10.50 @ 130 (86 degrees/2480 DA
104 and change at the 660'

The 60' is weak at 1.47-ish, probably due to only having 30 degrees of timing...

Not too bad for a "replacement" head, NO tuning and my first small block build. Best part was no leaks, no holes and nothing fell off!

**Forgot to update this as we went along**

10.33 @ 131 in better air and 6,400 shifts
10.18 @ 128 in better air...the track fixed bogus MPH clocks :(
10.14 @ 128 in the same air

60' foots on these runs were 1.41-1.44. If I could just find that magical 1.39...

This was after adding 48 cfm to the carb and improving the metering. Still guessing on the jetting. Hope to have an update this weekend that has an "0" in it!

Thanks for the update Doug. Looks like your doing OK there. Keep at it.

Rob, how heavy is the car. Those years have some preety heavy equipment on them.

Hopefully a 10 sec combo

What compression are you running?

Congrats on a real solid runner. Mine is doing about identical times, also with a 440source bottom end and Stealth heads :D

it is around 11.5 to 1 , and running on c-12 , but I am not sure what fuel I should be running?? timming is locked out at I think 34 degrees??

I'm running 13.5:1 and using Sunoco 110 without any problem. Timing is at 33deg. My next step is to get the Stealth heads CNC ported so I can hit the 10.0s:D My cam is a bit milder than yours at .630 I and E.

I'm not the one to answer that, but I do know that the cam grind has a lot to do with what kind of fuel you can get away with when you're running higher compressions. If no one has the answer here try the race forum at moparts.org lot's of good tech there.
