Roller cam??? Called some places no luck. comp, cran please inform me where to find this... Also what kind of Pistons ya using thanks Dave
Dave, ummmmm, you do realize that, "That" post you quoted is 7 years old right? There is a few threads in the racers forum that are "Stickied" up top that are loaded with information and parts used on how they did it to get there.
You could also start a thread of your own on your engine build. And ask questions there.
Best of luck

heres a couple time slips from this weekend. 430 ci 340 in the dart on my avatar. Licensed for 10.0 135. Had one pass in October when motor was brand new and lost trans and have not been able to run till this weekend. Got 10 passes in all foot brake. Trying not to leave early is not easy as car was a 11:40 car when motor blew year and a half ago. Ran a magnum motor last summer that did best of 11:71 to keep seat time. Still smiling !

NWDart, that's really sweet.
Now how about the combo since that is what this thread is about?!?!.

Tell us. How did you do it?!?!
We all love details on the things you used and how it was used. Help us mopar brothers out!

Wow! Nice! Woo-Wee! I bet it is a fun ride. What did you do for a cam?

What's it going to run????

70 duster, 14 point cage w/driver's cage, fiberglass rear deck and hood w/six pack hood, and the rest is all steel and glass. Sheet metal interior and dash. Engine is a 440 to 493 stroker, ported Eddy heads, 1050 Dom., super victor intake all port matched. Solid roller cam 273 degrees at .050 306 total .625 lift, 1.5 roller rockers. Bottom end has studs alum. main caps and a girdle, the block got the full treatment and is half filled with hard block. 727, PTC 9 1/2 inch 4000 stall, dana, spooled, 4:56:1 ratio, 32X14 slicks on the back. I don't know what it weights but probably 3200 to 3400? Rear end is narrowed and sits on the Cal track split mono leaf system. ???????????????????

@Coffee&Cars

You didn't run it yet?
This is a place to post what it ran not what we think or tell you it should.

2nd time to the track with the Duster project car. The goal was to build a 10 second drag car.
Little River Texas, 90 degrees and humid, motor is popping a little, plugs showed lean to okay, time to change jets and maybe timing. Seems to hook okay, dies after burnouts:
Upgrades:
4.56 Dana 60
Motor plate/electric water pump
...and after a little tuning:

best 60'-1.39
best 1/8th- 6.34@108
best 1/4-10.08@135
Leaving off idle, shifting at 6500rpm.

That sure looks like Greg Rainwaters old duster ! Is it ?
I bought it at an auction in 2013. It was owned by a fellow who was a sergeant in the Army stationed at Ft. Hood who passed away suddenly. I don't recall the name. I was told he used to race in Pennsylvania a lot.

I think your doing that solider proud in his sted!!!

I think he would be quite pleased, as the 1/8 mile dial in on the window when I bought it was 7.22 or something like that.
I think he was running a stock 440 in it, probably a 13.5-14 second car in the quarter.

Guess its not the same one. He had it backed down to run 9.60`s , to stop it from splitting the block. Its like my vega, just completely vanished after being sold.

The 65 Valiant i ran a few years back would run 10.20's at 130 mph. The combination was 360 stock stroke, 11.5:1 compression, Heavily worked J heads, a Mopar .590 flat tappet cam, 850 holley, 8" converter, 904 with aluminum drums,. Car weighed just under 2900lbs. This was in bracket mode. The car had evolved from a mid 11 leaf spring car to a low 10 second back half car with lots of updates along the way. I sure do miss that car sometimes.

Any one watch the street races in coffeyville . The town sponsors it.

Real Street Racing From Coffeyville Kansas!
Yikes thanks for the warning. Not a fan of street or no prep racing. IMO the only reason it's popular is people want to see someone wreck. I want to walk away from every race I'm in. That's why I run a 10 sec. car and not something real fast.
