What if u just unbolt the drive shaft from the rear end and strap it up under the car? Then nothing will spin inside the trans and u wont have the trans fluid leaking out of the tailshaft housing.

i used the propane torch to heat it and then scrape it off. burns real good if u get it on u and the fumes are not too sweet either. its a lot of work. when i did my front splash shields i used a 5 gallon bucket full of old gas and just let them soak until i could scrape it all off.
