    Almost back in the family

I was a regular on this site from 2005 until around 2010. Health issues and selling my 340 dart put me in a direction away from here. I would pop back on from time to time but really wanted to get back into another A body to feel like I was home again. I had a line on a 71 Demon, a little slant...

First time posting in a long time

Some of you know me, most of you don't. I was a very active member of this board for a long time, but unfortunately I haven't been around for a while. I just logged on and started poking around again. I really miss the interaction here and need to get back into it. So, I will reintroduce myself...

I really miss my "family" on this board.

For various reasons I haven't been around for awhile. For a long time I was here all the time, in fact January will be my 10th anniversary here. However, with medical issues and personal problems, I started to let a separation happen. I am determined to stay more involved and rekindle some old...

A while ago I posted about trying to buy my old friends duster back for his son Tyler. Last night Tyler's mom (Cheryl), invited my wife and I over for dinner and a movie. Tyler showed me Some drawings his father made for a custom decal on his 340 duster. He also showed me pics of other cars his...

I was shocked to see the post about my "giveaway" dart.

I know that Joe doesn't come on this site too often so to see he posted about the Dart was a nice surprise to me. I met Joe when I was selling my car and he wanted it...but was too young and not in the right position. When we spoke on the phone for the first time, I asked to speak to his mom or...

learning to drive a stick...what car did you learn on.

My Buddy's daughter wants to learn how to drive a stick. The only car he has with a manual trans is a 69 GTO judge so that is what she is learning on. I learned on my dad's 69 Hemi Charger about 30 years ago. So...what did you learn on?

I cut up my 340 Duster with a sawzall

Ok, ok...it wasn't really a sawzall it was a razor blade. I bought a 70 dart resin kit but it was a static kit, meaning the hood didn't open. I needed an A body as a donor car... so in came the 340 duster. Here are some in process pics of the build. I am adding to my FABO junkyard!

    Red on red A bodies

Anybody have one? The color combo has been growing on me since I have been restoring the Challenger convertible at the shop. I would love to see some Darts and Barracudas dressed in red.

    Trunk weatherstrip problem

I always install weatherstrips the same way. For the last 30 years with no deviation. Well, I didn't have clothes pins at work so I thought I could use tape to hold it in place until it dried. I ran my finger over the back to take some of the glue off, but when i removed the tape it still ruined...

    Cleaning parts in the shower?

Rani's question about cleaning parts in the shower got me thinking, are there any other "different" ways or out of the ordinary "tools" you use for cleaning part or restoring your cars? I have a dishwasher and an oven (both $10 yard sale finds) in my garage. The dishwasher I hook up a garden...

My cousin was killed in an accident last night

My cousin, Mark Haudenschild, was a volunteer fire fighter in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Last night while responding to a brush fire, the tanker truck he was driving rolled, he was ejected and was pinned under the truck. He was killed at the scene. He was 26 years old and leaves a wife, a 3 year son...

We are still dealing with power outages. Found some old pictures of my Dart

Actually I found about 40 pictures. Unfortunatly with a broken desktop, trying to scan them to the netbook is a never ending process. Here is the first one, from 1988. I went to the Musclecar nationals in Atco and saw an AAR Cuda in limelite and just had to repaint my car. This is before I even...

When I logged on this morning, I noticed that we now have 24,567 members. I am #616 and I remember wondering if we would hit 1,000 members...and then if we would hit 5,000 and then could we possible hit 10,000 and thinking there was no way we would ever get 15,000. And here we are at almost...

    Not a bucket list but.....

Long before I knew the term "bucket list", I had a "dream garage". I would buy, restore and sell cars for years trying to check off every car from the list. Problem is, the list never seems to get smaller...I keep adding to it. Some of the cars I had in the past were 1. 69 383 gts 2. 69 hemi...

I normally make sure everything is locked up before I leave the shop at night. However, yesterday, I had to leave a little early for a doctor appointment, but I figured at least someone would be smart enough to know how lock up the shop. I guess I was wrong! I came in this morning and the gate...
