Post your 10 second combo

Make sure it's a #8 wire, and put a auto re-setable breaker on the wire at the Batt. You can get those at Napa for $5.00. 40 amp is as big as you can get in the small ones, but there is no draw in that direction, so it will be fine. But if the wire shorts, it will protect it.

Finally broke into the tens May 12th, following much work and $$. Best 10.96 at 122.14 MPH with 1.56 short. Backed that up with a 10.97 same MPH next pass. 419 stroker, W2 iron heads, AED 950 Super Mod, Cam motion solid roller .680 lift, 727 rollerized, low gear set, Dynamic vert. 4.30 spool 8-3/4. Best short time dead hook on fresh glue 1.49. Looking for 10.80's and consistent.

Are your heads ported heavily?
What is the cams duration?
What is the stall rating?
Do you know the cars weight?

Thanks

I've seen a number of cars use the circuit breaker for protection, I used a short length of fusible link to protect my cable. You should also use the correct double pole battery cut off switch to truly isolate the battery when the shut off is activated. If not you still have battery voltage at the alt stud even with your disconnect shut off (don't ask me how I know this!!):violent1:

wow very nice set up. your car is awesome, i saw the norwalk video of it making a pass on moparts. i am in the process of building a 73/72 duster. aka 73 duster with a 72 front end on it.what all did you do to it to get the weight down? i hope my big block 73 duster weighs around yours. i weigh around 320 and my big block 73 dart weighs 3520 with me in it.thanks Mopar65

Your HP is 510.27 computed from your vehicle weight of 2850 pounds and ET of 10.335 seconds.

Not bad for a flat tappet stock stroke 360....

i agree very very set up you have there. what does 10.49 at 3420 come out as? but again i watched your video and your daughter drives that car very well. Mopar65

Well after 5yrs of trying I can officially post in the thread. My 71 Duster broke the 10sec barrier at two tracks this fall. It is the first official 10 second small block car in F.A.S.T. Best pass was 10.79 @ 123.87mph. Not to shabby considering its all steel, full interior, all cast iron motor using stock carb, intake, heads, and exhaust manifolds oh yeah, polyglass tires... Everything is obviously tweaked and lightened where possible, but if I didn't run in the class an easy 300lbs could be dropped.
